Greetings My name here will be Morbilim. " What kind of name is morbilim? It sounds so morbid?" Let me explain it is not as morbid as it sounds. I am a language geek. One of my favorite branches of language is Conlang or constructed languages. I derived the name from the elvish languages of Tolkien. The name is actually Morpilim from 'mor' meaning 'black' and 'pilim' meaning 'arrow'. I changed the 'p' to 'b' and voila, Morbilim. Of course it no longer literally translates as 'black arrow' but, that is our secret. It is the most original name I have ever used. As a result you can 'Google' the name and find many of the ways I have used it. I have nothing to hide. I am a US Army veteran of the regrettable Global War on Terrorism. As a result I have been in many lands sometimes under less than desirable conditions. I have refused to be affiliated with any political party. I am deeply mistrustful of the US government but, do not subscribe to conspiracy theory. My view is that everyone is conspiring all the time on behalf of one agenda or another. I self identify as Buddhist. My list of favorite authors runs the alphabet from Arthur C Clarke to Roger Zelazny. Four things I try to remember every day are: 1) The map is not the territory. 2) Despite appearing as humans most of us frequently behave like badly wired robots. 3) Reality is what you can get away with. 4) Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, is subject to impermanence. I have recognized my potential talent as a writer for many years now. I have always found a way to avoid it until recently. Why, you may ask would I want to avoid it. *sigh* There are many reasons. I will not list them all. I will give you the most current. First there are so many others who can do it much better than I. Second there is so much happening in the world right now, who has time for writing? I am clear that these are merely excuses. Recognizing that they may be invalidated, I concede I am fresh out of excuses not to write and must surrender on that front. Thus, you will find my first submission to the Hatrack River writers' community in the submission forum. I value truth over kindness and I have thick skin.

I add my own thanks for your service. And support what you may have learned already about this site. It's great for writing fellowship and to learn about writing. And you may find your talent is more than you think once you learn more about the craft of writing.
However do be careful around the Treehouse, there's this unicorn and she can be mean at times.
