Hitchens has already debated Sharpton, as everyone knows.

But who would you suggest to debate him?

I thought Bill Moyers might argue that Hitchens prescriptions would tear America apart but probably shares some of his concern about the religious right.

Mitt Romney is obvious, but probably wouldn't have time.

Pat Robertson? Sure, but there must be someone better...

I can certainly understand a hesitation to deal with such polemics. However, there must be someone willing and able to appear with him and offer another point of view.

I'd no more expect a respectable politician to debate Hitchens than to debate Phelps.

Actually, I would love to have Hitchens debate Phelps. Two bigots of the highest order slinging insults at each other. Pay per-view gold right there.
