I would think we definitely wouldn't be here if it weren't for French support during the Revolutionary War.
However I couldn't help but feel betrayed when they refused to support us in the Iraq War. The entire attitude Europe has towards American's, the unmitigated and unfounded hatred, just makes me feel like they're being a little ungrateful, but it’s not fair to judge the people on the decisions made by their governments and media.

I was actually pretty relieved that France (and most of Europe) didn't support the war in Iraq.
And, as we've seen even on Hatrack, there's a lot of anti-France feelings - even if only jokingly. So complaining about Europe disliking America isn't much different from complaining about America disliking Europe. Hm, I put that rather awkwardly, but you know what I mean.

Sorry for the tit-for-tat. I'm from the UK, so France is like our brother. Thus we're allowed to fight with them, as we have been for some thousands of years, but when someone else has a go at our brother, we feel the need to stand up for them.
As for the language issue... the French government has gone way too far there. Going well beyond an official state language, they actually have federal laws prescribing the amount of non-French language music allowed on the radio. I'd prefer the US system of having one language for government, but not having an official state language, allowing the people to choose their own language.

Sorry, to clarify what I was trying to say: Some people say that America hates Europe and some people say that that isn't so, they say that it is Europe that hates America.
My point was that there is anger (and happiness!) coming from both sides and the idea that one side dislikes the other significantly more than the other side does is false.

(You can check this by looking at one of your vassals and hovering the cursor over his loyalty.) You really ought not to make claims here, there, and everywhere; it makes your Dukes nervous. The USA takes a bigger shellacking than France ever did, so I'm not terribly concerned about it.
