[Confused]

I know almost nothing about Lovecraft. Any thoughts?

They are making a 3rd-rate mainstream thriller, while incorporating a few bits from Lovecraft's works, and appropriating HPL's most famous character for the title to boost the audience.

Meh.

I'm still waiting for a first-rate, faithful adaptation of The Colour Out of Space, which I find to be one of HPL's finest non-Dreamlands stories.

Ah, Tori Spelling! It must be quality!

Let's not forget the oh-so-forgettable, "Re Animator," and Wesley Crusher's (I'm sorry--Wil Wheaton) in "The Curse"

Which was, in some strange and horrible way, "The Colour Out of Space." Unfortunately, I kid you not.

Actually, for a really bad Lovecraft movie, check out "The Dunwich Horror": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0065669/

I like Re-Animator, but just as a fun splatterfest and not as actually Lovecraftian.

Dagon was a pretty good movie based mostly on The Shadow Over Innsmouth.

I will watch this trailer when I get home from work.
