I'm not part of your community but I heard tell that there was going to be an MMO built. I was very disappointed to hear though that this MMO is being built by Egenesis. Take a look at the fansite forums for their current game http://www.atitd.net/forum. Make sure to create an account and sign up for the purgatory user group (a group that anyone can join w/ the warning that there few limits on language and flaming). You will learn alot about the practices of Egenesis. I'm not gonna rant here about them. It isn't the place. However if you have high hopes for an Alvin Maker MMO, you might want to look into who is doing it and try to decide if as a community you want to try and put pressure to have a different development company do the work.
And as Teppy (aka Andrew Tepper) says he will come by your forums to learn about your community, do a search on the official sponsored fansite forums and see how often he has posted there.

Hi, I'm the admin and webmaster over at ATITD.net. And just wanted to speak up about this post. As with anything there is always a vocal minority and those who want to be able to express strong points of view. And thats basically what Purgatory on the ATITD.net forum is. It's simply a place people can go to vent without the contraints of the forum rules.
And the implication that Teppy isn't active in the ATITD community because he's not that active on the forums is laughable.
Anyway a moany post as my first post over here probably isn't the best start. So Hi everyone , I'm Tchrin. Although I've only read Ender's Game I'm really looking forward to Alvin's World. eGenesis always seem to like doing things in their own immicable way and I'm very interested to see what they make of Alvin's World.

Hi there, I've been playing atitd for the last 18 months and thought I'd chip in my 2 cents.
If you look at _any_ forum for a video game you will find people who complain about just about anything you can think of. The purgatory thread is kept hidden from non-registered forum users because it isn't a representation of the community as a whole.
Teppy (Andrew Tepper) is a great guy and an excellent choice as a developer. With a miniscule design team (and a lot of blood and sweat) he has put together a successful MMOG that has been around in release for the last 2+ years. Just because he is quiet does not mean he isn't present on the forums. There have been a few times where he chips in comments on threads and I'm sure _many_ more where he just hits back and takes notes. He also often makes himself available for chat in the atitd IRC room (#atitd on irc.sorcery.net)
In any case, if you really want to see what kind of developer he is, come and try out atitd. It has a free download and 24 hour trial. Look me up and I'll even give you some pointers. :-)

Posts like this don't bother me one bit. ATITD got an average review of 81%, which is pretty good. I also consider devs posting in forums to be a bonus, even if they can't get on and post that much.
I do have some questions about Egenesis though. Where are the offices located? How many games have they done? How many developers do they have?
I think I had some more questions but I've gotta go out to dinner.

I would just like to also say that I have played ATITD for 18 months, the game and its people are the best I have encountered in an online community. As far as Teppy is concerned he is way more invovled with his game than most Devs are. Honestly, I think eGenesis is the only developer that could do justice to an Alvin Maker MMO at the moment. Alvin Maker is all about complex moral quandaries and community building ... something that frankly does not occur in most MMOs besides ATITD.
