Our synagogue's book group had a wonderful discussion of this book (it had already read the first two) last night. Many interesting conversations were had, but some of us wondered if in coming from a Mormon backround there are differences in how these women are looked at and thought of.
We did start by reading the corresponding portion in the torah (an by coincidence it coincided with where we are in the torah anyway) and it's amazing how about 20 lines of verse became a novel of such real and moving proportion. I look forward to the next in the series. Leah has always been a biblical woman that I thought was in many ways overlooked (and in fact my daughter's hebre name is Leah).

So did you come to any conclusions about the differences? I've studied that section, but that was years ago in elementary school.
