That claims to be the world's first hooker union circa 1995, but it isn't. My brother was in one in NYC in the 80's ( he wasn't a hooker, long story.)

You fell for it! I'm such an attention whore. I told this story once but I can't remember which thread.
My mother and I were visting my brother in Manhattan in the late 80s. Mom picked up a magazine on the coffee table. Turns out it was the Hooker Union (cannot recall the name of the union) newsletter. Mom looks askance at Travis, expresses outrage, waits for explanation.
Travis' explanation was that he was counseling rape victims (this much I know is true, he won some award for it) and hookers and sex workers in general are often rape victims. He wanted the newsletter to understand them better. He had to join the union to get the newsletter.
You should have seen my mother's face when Travis said he was in a hooker's union!!
I guess Mom bought the story, she's never mentioned it since.
