Gah! My computer is being weird and I don't know why and I don't have time to search it online because I keep getting kicked off in like one minute.

After I have been online for a minute I get a box that says something like "Hurry up and save because the computer will shut down in one minute", and it has a countdown. It says it's being shut down by NT Authorize/Systems or something like that. That may not be exactly right but I have to hurry no time for spell check!

Same thing happened to my girlfriend...

Her computer then eventually ate all her files and pretty much died. Good luck.

You can also call Microsoft's helpline and they'll help you through.

For future reference, consider patching your computer regularly. The hole that the worm exploited was patched several months ago. Patch regularly (and don't open unknown attachments) and you're pretty much immune from all viruses.

I got the patch. I feel dumb for getting hit with this so late but we just reformatted our computer this weekend and we needed to re-patch. We got hit in that short time in between I guess. Thanks to all!

Did you remember to not only fix the hole, but ALSO update your DAT files and remove it?
