I failed my 3rd grade map test twice. 'Bout how long a drive is that?

Take four hours to drive to NYC from here. So add how long it takes you to drive to NYC from DC.

Probably about an 8 hour drive. Make it a weekend trip.

My advice is to eschew the eastern part of the continent all together. Make a trip to Whistler; I'll be more than happy to show you around our mountains.

Why go to Stratton or Cannon when you can hit 5280' of vertical in one run. That's right, one full mile, in one run.

Last year was one of the worst for snow in decades. Look at what the mountains looked like in May.

When I was in Seattle this week I was pleasantly surprised at how good the snow is without having to drive to Whistler. As for Whistler itself, I've never been there, but I've been told it's even better than the Alps (of which I've been on more than my fair share of 2km+ vertical runs).

I'll wait for Whistler until I know HOW to snowboard. [Wink]

But what better place to LEARN than where you are challenged?

At this point a bunny hill would be challenging for me to STAY UPRIGHT.

So I'd rather fall 100 feet rather than a mile.

Just a thought. [Wink]

Who knows, maybe I'll take to it a bit quick and then go to Whistler.

You paying my way? [Wink]

[apparently spelling is challenging me today]

I can barely afford both a pass and food. Even then, the food is scarce. Well, you gotta know where your priorities are.

You'll learn much more in powder than you will on ice.

Right...

We're getting more powder tonight andtomorrow [Wink]

Stop being a snow snob. I'm a poor social worker and this small place near my apartment does lessons on evenings, too.

I want to learn now, not when I can afford a trip to Whistler.

But when I can, I'll call you and you can come too! [Smile]

It's not so bad if you can't stay up in this.

Does this look easy? It is.

Just look at the view.
