In my Intro to Theatre class, we were split into eight groups to perform 7.5 minute original plays for our midterm. Four of those plays were chosen for next week's Mask Club slot to perform in front of the whole theatre department. My group's comedy based on this article was one of the ones chosen. I'm really excited.

After the midterms, the four were chosen based on which ones the high-ups thought were the best.
I thought it was interesting that of all the ones that the professor saw, he made little suggestions (you should do this better, etc) to all the groups except ours. *smiles*
What form is the play going to take? Is it a fashion-police kind of thing? I thought the "sarcasticmuppet" thing might work well in the "sock" theme. sock-puppets. sarcastic sock puppets. fun stuff.

I'm reminded of the Simpson's where Marge tells Homer she's pretty sure it's a no no to wear a formal jacket over a short sleeved shirt.

Neutral Mask is actually really cool, if you can get past the slight creepiness of it. Instead of having face/personality masks that would determine who your character is, the masks would be completely white, hiding the actor's real face. Our TMA class had an interactive lecture with both types of masks. Watching actors perform without faces is a bit weird, but really interesting.
