Tony and I are housesitting for his parents who are visting the States.

Along with the house comes a small white dog, a loud sulfur crested cockatoo, 9 tropical fish and an extremely fluffy and bad tempered cat.

We spent the night away, and arranged neighbours to feed the pets etc.

So we come home this afternoon - to find that the cat has ignored the presence of his litter tray. Completely. And has a left a large, very smelly and quite sloppy deposit on the middle of the WHITE CARPET.

Tony cleaned it up.

The Cat is not in our good books.

Oh, and another development.

The cat, it seems wasn't content with just that - it also walked through it, and then onto the kitchen counter.

Tony is bleaching the counter as we speak.

So, anyone want a free ginger tom?

Do you suppose they'd notice if the cat moved less when they got back? Like, a lot less?

What? I'm just askin'. O:)

Sounds like a *great* idea to me.

I'm just happy we remembered to close the bedroom door before we left.

The cat is probably just trying to tell you it doesn't like being left alone with a small white dog, a loud sulfur crested cockatoo and 9 tropical fish.

Hmm, perhaps. I'm not sure that justifies its method of communication. Couldn't it have just eaten the dog instead? (The fish are pretty much protected)

Actually, after completing the clean up I'm kinda looking forward to doing the job myself.

That's just silly. Then you'd have ANOTHER mess to clean up.

And blood stains are the worst to get out.

That sort of behavior is cat-speak for "I'm very displeased with you for having ignored me, so I'm going to make it so you can't ignore me."

Just think of Glenn Close in "Fatal Attraction", and be glad you didn't find the bird boiling in a pot on the stove. [Wink]
