In the cafeteria here, there is a bulletin board that is usually filled with family or childhood pictures of the employees and some sort of warm and fuzzy message. This month is families, and the board is covered with cute couple with babies and several quotes about families scattered about.
In the center is the following:

I haven't seen any of them either. You can get a serious feel for it, though, by reading the quote pages on IMDB. It's basically transcribed there.

No you can't, Francis Ford Coppola gave it it's feel, and that feel is achieved through cinematography, set design, acting, despite what our wonderful host says, the director has far more control over how the movie turns out than the writer or anyone else does.

Not for the movie, but for the quotes and the language. Enough that I can recognize it out of context. Kind of like picking up on LOTR here - OF COURSE its not the same as watching the movie, but if you don't want to watch the movie, it's enough to be able to recognize the quotes.

No fair sticking an edit on me! I almost missed that!
Yes it is my opinion, and though you can disagree I'll stick to it, and I don't think anyone will say that the director has a very large impact on a film.

*explains* The movie was different, and darker, and better, and more magical, but it was still a Harry Potter. We weren't suddenly watching a Spanish love story or a movie about people in comas.
Last weekend, my mom went with one of her artists (she runs a gallery) to a posh garden party in Missoula that is part of some week-long conference of writers. For some reason there was some guy there who won an emmy for set design on Frasier. So I don't know who these people were. Anyway- Yesterday my mom called up Carol (the artist) and was chatting with her and found out she was having lunch with one of the people who had been at the party. "The Coppola guy" is what she called him. "Oh, so she's hanging out with Francis Ford Coppola, is she?" I quipped. "Oh yeah, I think that was it," Mom replied. "What? Carol is having lunch with Francis Ford Coppola?" I said incredulously. "I think so," said Mom. "Everyone kept calling him Frank.

The thing is what you just said was that the plot was still the same even with a new director. Which is saying that the plot is the most important part of a movie. Of course that's opinion so it's not like I can call you wrong, but let's just say that the reason I enjoy just about every Kubrick movie isn't that he always does the same plots. It's about how the film is shot, and then edited back together. And not just sequencing, what comes after what, but which shot goes in from diologue, what angle, how long? I agree, it's an opinion, but that doesn't mean I don't think I'm right.

It's possible. It depends on whether or not you think the warm and fuzzy schmaltz is done with a straight face or not.
You haven't seen these bulletin boards. I don't anyone designing them is acquainted with irony. Part of me loves this place for that.
