Well, maybe I'll hang on to my hotmail account too!

I really like gmail so far, however. [Cool]

quote:
Blake Irving, a corporate vice president with Microsoft's MSN online division, said the company hadn't heard that customers were eager to bulk up storage on Hotmail accounts. But, he said, amid the attention surrounding e-mail storage, the company didn't want competitors to have an edge with larger storage capacities.

"Our users haven't cared about storage and we just wanted to take it off the table," he said.

Ha ha! Bullshit. Thanks, Google -- here's to the wonders of competition.

I'm happy now. I registered with Gmail today, but I love my hotmail account, but I had to do some major deleting yesterday, it was overflowing, only 2k after being gone a week is bad.

Having finally landed a Gmail account, I can say that I like Gmail's UI much better than Hotmail.

And Gmail's Google, not MS. A petty point, to be sure, but one that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside every now and again.

I have never been fond of hotmail...I tried it in the past, and did not like how it was set up...also I really think they sell your address to spammers (judging by the crap I got)

I like the gmail UI, there are a few things I would like changed (and I e-mailed them telling them that) but overall it seems to be good. I also like the fact that you can send large attatchments.

It's been a while since I last used Hotmail, but the problem I had with it was their joke of a spam filter. I've been using Yahoo for years, now, and while I get more spam, they do a good job of letting none of it in my inbox.

'Course, now I have Gmail, too, but I'm not sure how permanent that account will be since it's still in beta. Once Google opens it to the general public, though, I'm sure I'll switch.
