I went to one of the house parties Sunday night. Although I consider myself a pretty staunch Moderate (extremism on either side makes me ill), my fiance is a pretty strong Liberal and really wanted to see it. I was willing, since I was already disgusted by Faux News and their unbelievable ability to use scare tactics and bullying to control the minds of their audience....

And, judging by even the small number of clips included in the film, I didn't know the half of it. For instance, I had missed the interview with Jeremy Glick on O'Reilly's show. Glick's father was killed in 9/11, and Glick came to disagree with the Bush administration's handling of the months and years following. When Glick protested, O'Reilly, while in the same breath claiming to unconditionally support the poor families of 9/11 victims, lashed out at this kid, cut his mike, and had him thrown out of the building along with some physical threats!

The film was heavy-handed at times, though nowhere near as crude and manipulative as a Moore film. And all you really have to do to verify a lot of this stuff is just sit down and watch FOX one evening. It's all there, the parroting of White House "talking points", the overwhelming ratio of conservative to liberal guests, the use of personal opinion masked as reliable fact.... It's a sad thing that's happened to American journalism.

*nod*

I would see this documentary but I think most of the points have already been collected on the net in various places.

Would be interested to see of any conservatives can refute it, though I'm more than happy to acknowledge that having a conservatively biased network is not really a bad thing.

It's worth seeing, if only for entertainment value. I was howling with laughter at a few points (though I was also wincing at the rather heavy-handed conclusion and some particularly poor graphics). There's some funny stuff to be made of simply compiling a bunch of FOX talking heads. [Smile]

"Only ONCE have I EVER told ANYONE to shut up!"

"Shut up."
"Shut UP."
"Shut up!"
"If you don't shut up right now..."
"SHUT UP!"
"I'm telling you to shut up."
"Just shut up!"
"Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!"
