Someone here said they were reading and enjoying one, and I've used the search function to the best of my ability but I cannot find the thread. If I can I would like to get it for my mother's birthday because naturally I would like to encourage her science fiction reading tendences. (Philip K. Dick is all she reads in that area).
Who was reading it? And if anyone else knows of a good one that would likely be available at a bookshop near me (not Amazon- I am sadly lacking of credit card) that would be helpful too.
Also, what is, in your opinion, a more obscure (so I know she hasn't read it) but nevertheless excellent Philip K. Dick if the biography plan fails.

I enjoyed the book very much. I think the author was trying to use Dick's weird style to write his bio--very ambitious but he pulls it off. I liked it so much I am looking for Carrere's previous novel The Adversary.
Many writers have tried to copy Dick's style, he was very influential in science fiction. But my mind is blank on who did it well.

I think I'll try to find a copy of that at the library. I just recently read some autobiographical stuff on the official Philip K. Dick website, and it peaked my interest. Well, that and the fact that I love his novels.
I'm really looking forward to the Scanner Darkly movie. I started a thread about it, but not many other Hatrackers seemed interested.
