I'm really sorry for you, mate. Migranes I never had, but I felt my head split intrnally. Is that when I became Schizophrenic?

Honestly, you're one of the people I empathise most. I mean, you're roughly my age (I believe - though I never quite heard it officially), and you're a good person - whom all like. One more at the age of the "teens" that is worthy of being a truly valued Hatracker (and I'm only saying it about myself because I've been told so by some here), and not the average slob.

(((Steve)))

And the best way to stop a migrane is to chop off your head. It's 20 seconds of agony, but it'll be serene afterwards, so some believe.

Cheers, mate, we need you awake here!

And don't pass my Post Count! *Wink.*

as a migraine sufferer, I can admit to having considered decapitation. I swear, some of the medications you have to take make you feel worse than the migraine. Must be a distraction technique...

I slammed my nose in someone's head while the two of us turned around from opposite directions very quickly. Nothing much happened, except it's now semi-hooked, and I felt like a Pavlovian dog for three days or so.

Pavlov is a name that rings a bell... I always thought he kicked the dogs, and so the joke became "Pavlov's a name that kicks a dog" - and other things (like Quazimotto and the "his face kicks a dog" joke).

I'll need to try that when I get home. [Razz] I'm honored to have a thread about me, sort of. Its really cool. I'm beginning to think that the headaches are cause by something because I've had one every day of the week for a few months. Not all of them are migranes, roughly half of them are. Maybe I should say something to my doctor......

I don't know, might be. How old are you? I'm 14.

So's he. (He's watching "The Pianist," so I thought I'd let you know.)

You think, maybe? [Wink]

Your primary physician can probably start you out with some meds for migraines.

But I know if I was getting headaches every day, I'd also be talking about a referral to a neurologist. If your primary physician doesn't bring that up, ask.

BTW, it's possible to have migraines manifest in different ways. I had migraines I've recognized as such for years - they come with the nausea, light sensitivity and other fun stuff. But there's another headache that's mostly in the back of the head and back, with little light sensitivity and only slight queasiness I thought was just tension. Turns out, according to my neurologist, those are migraines too. I take a different medication for those, saving the "heavy artillery" for the other kind.

He already did. I've talked to him about the migranes, of course they've gotten worse, awhile back. He gave me a prescription. It works, sort of, and it makes me really REALLY REALLY tired.

Edit: Nuerologist study nerves/brain waves etc. correct?

Edit of the Edit (for Raia): The e-mail is away.

I'm doing very well, thank you. [Smile] And we can do this via e-mail if you don't want to derail the thread further! Up to you!

There are lots of migraine medications to choose from these days. There's probably no reason not to choose something else.

Yep - the main point being, the problems you are having are within their specialty. It's best to try to find either a headache clinic or an individual neurologist who specializes in headaches. Your primary doc should be able to help you locate one or the other.

They put on the news for a few minutes.

I'm 14, Steve, I am watching The Pianist, and I've got a busy day tomorrow, including the directing of a 1:30 hour lesson about the Holocaust.

Got to go.

Mmm, The Pianist. Beautiful, beautiful film.

Sorry about your migranes, Steve. Though I suppose decapitation may not be the best course of action. [Big Grin]

Steve, when I have a migraine, decapitation starts sounding very good. Who needs a head?

Talk to your doctor about trying other meds. I take Zomig for mine and it works very very well. I have noticed lately that it makes me a little unfocused, but the effect is negligible.

I'm sorry to hear you're suffering migraines.

A dialogue my friend Avner and I had:

M: "Avner, you know more about migranes than me. How do I get rid of one?"

A: "Did you take an Aspirine?"

M: "Of course I did! It's useless, thre pills in 6 hours but it's still in my head!"

A: "Then you'll just have to live through it."

M: "Preferebly, decapitation. I prefer being beheaded than in agony."

I've begged for decapitation before.. No one will ever do it. Damn mercy killing laws...

When it gets really bad, Freddie Fireaxe will taunt me. "You know, it would only take one swing. One, sweet merciful swing. Oh, I couldn't do it, I'm inanimate. And no one's willing to go to jail just to deaden your pain."
