Mmm. I really like it. I like A Rush of Blood, but I end up skipping several songs on that one.

With this one, so far I don't skip any. It's very...singable. [Smile] I love an album like that. What I found most striking about Coldplay when I first heard them is Chris Martin's voice. It's so warm, I love it. He makes me want to sing along with him...and I do! Especially on this album.

Special favorites: Swallowed in the Sea, Fix You, and What if.

I really like Coldplay. As a matter of fact, I have "Clocks" as one of my cell phone ring tones. But someone on the radio today called them "A Voice of a New Generation." I'm not sure if I can back that up.

I can't wait to get this album, I heard they worked on it for a very long time (9 months or more) and they still weren't satisfied with the final product, but if "The Speed of Sound" is any indicator, it will a good one.

It is! It really feels more involved than their past albums, so it makes sense when you say that they took a long time on it. I'm not a super fan or anything, I've only discovered them recently and wasn't all that enthused. Just mildly. [Smile] But this album is recommendable. Definitely.

I listened to the clips on iTMS. It sounds like a Coldplay album. I have one (the second), and I think that's plenty for now. [Smile]

I'm a pretty big fan of Coldplay. I have, and love, both Parachutes and A Rush of Blood to the Head. Plus a bunch of live stuff.

I'm kind of worried about this album, besides the fact that the band was having a lot of problems during the making of the album. Speed of Sound is a decent song, but nothing that really grabs a hold of me. Though, to be fair, I got into Coldplay because of Yellow, even though that's by far not the best song on that album, and doesn't do much for me anymore. So if Speed of Sound is in a similar vain I may still love the album as a whole, even if I don't think their radio single is the best work.

Narnia, I used to skip some stuff on Rush of Blood and thought it was inferior to Parachutes, but with repeat listening starting liking the album as a whole more and more and now I think it's a better album than Parachutes. It's interesting how that changes.

Yeah, I should pick up Parachutes. I haven't heard that one yet. (yeah, I'm not a true fan!!)

I definitely would not say that Speed of Sound is a good representation of the rest of the album. The songs I listed above are much more powerful...in my opinion. [Smile] Well, they are the songs that grabbed me. There are others that are better too. I'd be interested to hear what you think when you finally hear it Strider.

Is the album out yet?! *squee*

I like Coldplay, and I heard that this album is going to be very good. But the real reason I want to get the album is because....I WAS THERE! [Big Grin] I was staying next to their recording studio in London last summer when they were working on it! I've been waiting a year for this album.

The new single, whatever it's called, is just a slower transposed version of bits of Clocks. How long did it take them to write this record?

I can only listen to Coldplay in the summer when the sun is shining. In the winter it gets too depressing (My dad calls it 'music to take a bath with a toaster to').

The new album is really good though. I especially love 'Fix you'.

Heh heh. Brinestone noticed that, too. I still think it's a decent song. And if it's not representative of the rest of the album, I think that's probably good.

I thought it sounded like Coldplay. There were a few nice moments, I guess, but overall it sounded like the same monotonous Coldplay rhythm and chords all the way through. They certainly didn't break out of any boxes with this album.
