I'm pretty darn sure I felt another SoCal earthquake. Anyone else?

(Probably too early to see stats, but I'll look soon.)

I assumed it was another train going by work. I was talking to a coworker so I didn't have a chance to listen to see if it was a train.

Looks like there was a 5.3 in the greater LA area roughly 5 minutes ago. Could that be what you felt?

Gotta be -- but I'm over 100 miles away from that. I figured it was closer or bigger.

Wow -- it looks like it just about hit the summer camp I used to work at. Looks like the camp sessions don't start until Sunday, though, so at least there weren't a bunch of kids around to possibly get hurt. There was an earthquake once when I was there, and several very large boulders rolled down through some areas of the camp (including flattening a teepee -- empty, luckily). I wonder if there'll be extra cleanup needed to get ready for camp. I guess the new summer accomodations crew will have its hands full.

I didn't even realize that was an earthquake until my friend called! But, we felt it down here

Seriously, California. Don't slide off into the ocean until after September. Just slap some duct tape on that fault, or something. I gotta see Disneyland one last time. Then I can say goodbye.

That fault? We got a lot of them, dude. Don't worry, though -- we're not due to get cut in half for another six-and-a-half years.

I must really be tired, because I can't come up with a comeback right now. And you live in New Jersey.

Not "woe", but rather, whoa!

And I am sick of people poking fun of New Jersey, when it is so superlative in so many ways...

Highest auto insurance rates,

Highest property taxes,

Highest concentration of Superfund sites,

Highest proportion of people passing through on their way to somewhere else.

I really was.

The good part is, I was actually sitting and waiting for the cement to dry (I was getting a crown put in). And was trying to figure out WHO was kicking the chair (which has a spring in its base, as part of the mechanism, and shook a LOT) if there was no one in the room?!

A swaying potted plant in the next room clued me in.

If I'm not mistaken, we've had four earthquakes and one tsunami warning in the last five days. Who says that California doesn't have weather?

I felt all but one of the earthquakes.

As a native Californian, I don't mind earthquakes. Northridge was scary because it seemed to last forever and the constant aftershocks made my legs feel like I was walking on a pier, but in general, I prefer a little bit of rock and roll to hurricanes or ice storms.

Actually, I'm glad to see that we're having a spate of eathquakes. It relieves the pressure on the fault lines and I believe in the theory that it's better to have alot of little ones rather than one big one

I don't know if I could live in a state where having a lot of small earthquakes is considered a *good* thing.

This earthquake prediction site is wicked cool.

Am I the only one bothered by 4 earthquakes (scroll down to look at map) along the San Andreas fault line? Remember, there were earthquakes down under before the huge one that caused the tsunami. I'm always afraid CA is going to fall off into the ocean. Well, not fall off, but become an island out there.
