WV GOP Lawmakers Plan to Take The Lead Eminent Domain
Each state needs to do something to protect their citizen’s property now. Hope each state is looking into doing something. Might want to contact your legislature representative to make sure they’ve started.

Senator Sprouse says the entire legislature must address the issue. He says the Democratic leadership hasn't responded to the Supreme Court ruling, but hopefully the leaders will soon. He says the right to property ownership is not a partisan issue.

Man, I should hope it's not a partisan issue. And I don't think it is, I've noticed people on both sides of the political fence are outraged at the SCOTUS ruling.

True, it shouldn’t be a partisan issue. But now that the Supreme Court has ruled this way, it’s up to the states to make their own laws to protect property owners. Some might not like the headline that the GOP is taking the lead, but the issue needs to be addressed. All I’m saying is if you are worried about this issue, you should do your part and write your state legislature. Mine are working on it, are yours?

Jay,
It's easier to pass legislation like this in West Virginia because nobody wants to build anything there. [Big Grin]

Sorry...as a resident of NoVa, I couldn't pass up an opportunity to take a dig at West-by-God-Virginia...if someone found out that I had, they might force me to move there...

Seriously though, I'm glad to see some action being taken to protect the rights of citizens.

Ha ha! Very funny.
Try telling that to someone wanting to buy a house in Morgantown. You can put it on the market and sell it in one day! Townhouses are being bought one year and sold the next at a huge profit.
You silly Virginians are just jealous!
But anyway….
There’s no reason why every state shouldn’t have protections going in their state.

You'll get no arguments from me on the housing market. We sold our townhouse in Leesburg, VA in 14 hours...it's insane...
