Shouldn't that displacer beast picture just be a picture of an empty tabletop, with the actual origami being out-of-frame somewhere?

Cool.
I have a headache just thinking about doing origami, even those little frogs. So these give me a migraine. (in a good way)

I had a plan once to make a giant paper crane, one big enough that I could wear it around my body, and be that for Halloween. I made a scale model, including a tinfoil me, and figured out the dimensions that would be neccessary to make it big enough to wear.

The only obstacle that kept me from going through with it was the cost in obtaining a 6-foot-square piece of paper. If I ever find a cheap one, though, I'm totally doing it.

I have to say that anyone who would make such a scale model, including a tinfoil self, is just cool.

And I love the tarantula.

Annie, my sister wants to make a 6 foot one for her wedding. Or at least find a similar-looking statue. *laugh* My eyes bulged at the idea!

The way I calculated it, it would take a piece of paper six feet square just to make a crane big enough for me to fit in its body (wearing it like a barrell), but the body is pretty small compared to the wings, so were I to actually attempt this, I would have an 11-foot wingspan.

I'm just glad this wasn't about Erotic Origami. Apparently, some people have a lot of time on their hands.

:disturbed:

And the fact that there are books on this subject, as if there are numerous people who'd like to know how to make it, is even more disturbing.

I thought I was a hotshot because I can make a snail with a real puffed out spirally shell.

I am humbled.
