My 9 year-old niece is having out-patient surgery tomorrow at 11 (CST) and would appreciate prayers (from those of you who do that kind of thing.)

She's been on antibiotics for years because of bladder infections and apparently, they now think she's missing a valve somewhere, so they are going to put one in and hopefully stop the infections.

That sounds just nasty. I'll add her to my prayers.

Thanks. I'm not the praying type and from what I hear, this is a relatively easy surgery, but they are Catholic (my brother converted to marry in the church and seems pretty dedicated to it, as all the kids are in private Catholic school.) My sister-in-law is the one asking for prayers for Abby. I didn't want anyone to think I'd suddenly converted or anything.

Thanks for the good thoughts and prayer, though. I'll let you know when I hear how she's doing.

An update from my sister-in-law:

quote:
Wanted to let everyone know Abby's surgery went very well. He said her valve on the left (which was the bad side) was very abnormal and the right (which we thought was okay) wasn't quite right either so he fixed both sides. He thinks this will do the trick!

It's amazing that she was not cut in any way. No incision, no IV, no shot, it really was pain-free. Thanks for all of your prayers! K

Yay! I'm surprised and impressed. Two valve repairs and no incisions. Cool beans.
