Read all about it!

Imagine, once they reach a point where this stuff can be produced in sufficient quantity, how useful this will be as a building material or as a material used in aerospace applications. Very cool stuff!

Wow, wow.

[Big Grin]

And I agree about the use of materials like this in, as you say, aerospace applications, Noemon.

Sounds sweet. I wonder how heavy that stuff is. Also, is it five times stronger than steel per volume or mass?

I would love to know more about *why* this substance works so effectively. What they claim it can do is amazing!

Yeah, there's really very little information about the substance in the article, when you get down to it. I'd love to be able to see some of the data on this stuff first-hand.

Wow, that's some cool stuff. Anyone else wondering why the armor shown is made with nipples, abs, and a belly button? [Wink]

It's a prop left over from the cancelled second George Clooney Batman movie.

edit: Actually, it says under the picture that it's a medieval breastplate. Those were known to be decorated all kinds of weird ways. I'm sure they don't have a working peice of nano-armor yet, so they used a picture of something a little older.

But when they start making this stuff, they definitely should put abs, nipples, and belly buttons on them. Just imagine when the enemy first lays eyes on our new suits of armor:

"What the heck is that, like, an eight-pack?! We're no match for that. Run away!"
