For those who weren't at Hatrack back then, my mom had breast cancer about 2 years ago. She recently had a mamogram and they found something on it. She's having a biopsy this Wednesday.
I need some good vibes and hugs. This is very stressful.

I understand completely, Derrell. It's scary, but you and your mom can get through this again, just like me and my mom got through it, again. They have lots of different kinds of treatments now, and I'm sure that her doctors will do everyhting they can.

~~~Derrell & Mom~~~ Hope it all turns out well. One good hope is that since she has a history she and her doctors have been extra vigilant and have caught this (if it's anything) early.
Since I just came from a Relay for Life planning committee meeting, I think I'm supposed to suggest people get involved...
Will be praying for your family, Darrell. Just went through this fear and anxiety with my little bro about a year ago.
Derrell, you're definitely in my thoughts. You and your mom have my prayers that the biopsy shows good news. Even if it doesn't, at least your mom has doctors who are on top of the situation.
I'm not sure how soon they'll get the results of the biopsy.
Can any of our medical people shed some light on this question. I'm guessing they'll send the tissue sample to the lab as soon as they remove it.
Well, the surgery's done. The doctor said we won't know the results until Monday or Tuesday, but he was optimistic when we saw him just befor the procedure.
I'll share the results of the biopsy when we find out.
I know what you're going through. Not only have I had to deal with cancer, but my mom during the course of my treatment found out she had some condition that put her at a higher risk of breast cancer and they've found different stuff thank God none of which has turned out to be malignant. Needless to say that has been a huge strain on everyone in my family.
For what its worth the doctors knew after my biopsy that I had some form of cancer right away, they just didn't know what exact kind for quite awhile. On the other hand I obviously didn't have breast cancer nor anything remotely similar.
Good luck to you and your mother and just remember that in the unfortunate case it is malignant that the key to stopping it is early detection and you've certainly done that.
Will do. They're not sure yet what further treatment they'll use. I'm guessing the oncologist will prescribe chemo or radiation just to be sure they got it all.
