The article that was the headline on the BBC website today was about global warming.
quote: The report, published by the UK government, says there is only a small chance of greenhouse gas emissions being kept below "dangerous" levels.
However, this one article also has links to the BBC's entire climate change section on the website, with other articles, and diagrams and things. Here is the "In Depth" section which groups all these articles together providing what I think is a pretty comprehensive view of the situation.
There is also a quiz and things. All in all, very interesting, useful and informative. I thought El Worldwide Jatraqueros might be very interested.

1,000 years being given as the time frame for the climate to change? Well, that means everyone is certain to procrastinate.

You mean this. I think what they are saying that in 1,000 years it could be irrevesible, or close to irreversible.

Not quite. The 1,000 years is the estimate they give on how long it'll take the sea level to rise. The article indicates they -already- thing it's irreversible.

I thought you had missed how much it was. It seemed to me that you implied that there would be no change for 1000 years, and then climate change would occur.

I'm sorry, I thought this was going to be a joke thread. The world is in heat, and ready to reproduce ... yeah.

Evie3217, I'm right with you in Northern Va! I couldn't believe how weird it was today! Woke up to thick creepy fog and by noon I thought we we're in the middle of spring! It's been so nice the past few weekends we even took my little girl to see the new panda at the zoo! I've never been to a zoo in January!
