I grew up reading the book. I was just reminded of the story of "X" because the Princess just wrapped up a basketball in a sheet and sang it a lullabye and tried to give it a pacifier. [ROFL]

Um, at what age is it developmentally appropriate to "stuff?" She just took a ball and put it down her shirt before holding her baby against her chest to "feed" it. Not that I'm surprised after our previous na-na inadequacy conversation...

Then she "played the guitar" with a puzzle for the guitar. I guess her imagination is working extra-well today. [Wink]

I should imagine that at the age that she becomes aware of pregnancies and babies (which, considering the fact you are pregnant is Now) is the age she imitates pregnancy. My sister was always fascinated by babies at a very young age.

I think it must be something to do with understanding that babies are Smaller Than You, even though you're the Smallest.

It's no different from imitating other things adults do, such as shopping or going to work or buying a house- or anything. Small children don't have the same associations with pregnancy that adults have.

I'm not pregnant. [Razz]

And she wasn't pretending pregnancy; she was pretending breastfeeding. I was just amused because she's never before put something down her shirt to make it look like she has breasts.
