Wasn't this the guy that invented the war on Christmas?

My thoughts on the guy? Well he just convinced me to start checking out that paper more often, the sound like good people.

The median age of Bill O'Reilly's audience is 71. (source)

So now he's criticizing the NYT for not being pro-Israel in this particular conflict? On this question, I think the paper's stance has less to do with concerns about its base and readership than concerns about the prosecution of the war itself.

Here's a map of where the 2 Israeli soldiers were captured. (ADMINS: WHY CAN WE NOT USE [img] TAGS?)

Confirmation that Israeli soldiers were captured inside Lebanon

from your link:
On July 13, the Times published an editorial titled "Israel's Two-Front Battle," which criticized Hezbollah's "[k]idnapping Israeli soldiers to use as bargaining chips for the release of Arab prisoners" as being "horrible behavior for groups that claim international recognition and political legitimacy, as Hamas and Hezbollah do." The editorial continued, advising Israel to respond by "acting wisely and proportionately" by "focus[ing] military actions as narrowly as possible on those individuals, organizations and governments directly complicit in the attacks, while sparing the civilian populations that surround them."

At least 327 Lebanese civillians are dead. (The highest figure I've heard for number of Hezbollah fighters killed was 3). Hezbollah has been returning rockets into Israel, at the rate of about 1 for every 1000 hits Lebanon receives. The US has vetoed a UN resolution calling for a cease fire in order to allow Israel another week to "inflict maximum damage on Hezbollah." I have yet to see any image or video of an attack that successfully hit Hezbollah targets. All I have seen are destroyed apartment buildings and bridges, roads littered with destroyed cars and building debris, and hundreds of dead civillians.

edit: Some panoramic views of destruction in Lebanon (quicktime plugin required)

Just because O'Reilly hates them doesn't mean they're good people... Keep in mind the NYT is the paper that agreed to hold the story on illegal NSA wiretapping for a year at a White House request. The NYT ran Judith Miller's fact-bending pro-war columns in the runup to the Iraqi war as well. There certainly is some good news there, but the NYT does have it's problems.
