...and I don't mean that they just make you giggle or smile. I mean that they give you a sense of deep abiding contentedness, that maybe the world really is pretty nifty after all.
I think (hope) that most of us find this mental equilibrium primarily from similar sources, family, friends, solitude for the introverts, religion for the theists. But what little thing(s) are there in your life that can consistantly give you the motivation to experience life?
For me, one of those things is this commercial: I feel great. I'm pretty sure it's been linked to already in different threads, but there it is, for convenience sake.
Today, it's lent me the motivation to get up and go to class, even though I was feeling particularly lazy.
Amzing, the power of such tiny things.

My husband finds deep and intense satisfaction getting from point A to point B without hitting any red lights. He is normally a pretty laid back guy and can go with the flow in almost any situation, but for some reason this is a big deal to him. He will actually call me from his destination sometimes just to tell me he had green lights all the way.
My favorite feeling in the world is coming home when it's really cold outside, putting on sweats and socks and hiding under a huge comforter over a heat vent. I've been doing that since I was five.

When I come home everyday, my cats are waiting at the door for me. One of them starts purring just seeing me. There's something that just puts everything right in the world when little creatures are so thrilled just to have you there.

The seasons. The smell of them. For example right now it smells like fall. It feels like fall, the leaves are starting to turn. Just sitting and smelling the world, looking at the colors, hearing the crunch of leaves under my feet.
In the summer its the wind through the leaves and on my face, the warm air, the smell of flowers and lush soil.
In the spring its the budding leaves and the flowers poking up from the soil, the slowly warming air, that sorta wet smell that comes from spring rains.
The winter its seeing my breath, the fact that its too cold to smell anything, crunch of snow and that refreshing blast of freezing cold when I walk out the door.
I could probably come up with more, but that's what's really on my mind right now cause today was a beautiful fall day.

When my friends and I spend about $60 to see a bad movie, eat very unhealthy food, and play DDR until our ride is almost yelling at us, but we walk away laughing and singing corny old songs.

Sitting back and looking at the wreckage of a really satisfying meal. With a mug of tea or a glass of wine. (And knowing that someone else is doing the dishes.)
That my cutlery drawer has a section devoted to my chopsticks.
Latin Scrabble.
The smell of books.

Spending time. Throwing it away on stupid conversations with friends and family. I love just being with the people I love. Don't need to do anything, I just like their presence in my personal world, whether there's strife or happiness. When I'm alone for long, I fall apart.
I'm an antisocial claustrophobe who loves people.

Sitting in my boyfriend's living room when he doesn't know I'm going to be there, and watching the look of utter shock and surprise on his face when he opens the door and walks in.

1) Books 2) My husband 3) Being around dogs 4) Taking photographs. Also, looking at other people's photographs, especially if they're really nice photographs! 5) Spending time with my friends. Especially if I've just reconnected with old friends. That's the best.

I also like finding out random information that my boyfriend doesn't know about one of his former band obsessions and calling him to tell him.
