So for the past few months (or at least it's felt like that), every time I sign on to AOL instant messenger it asks me to upgrade.

Each time I try, it says my computer doesn't meet the requirements to do so. The message implies that I need more memory, but when I've tried this it still doesn't work.

Anyone who is smarter than me about these things (almost everyone) run into this problem? And perhaps know how to fix it?

Why bother upgrading?
The old AIM is just fine. I do not like the new.

After that, download Gaim, apparently now renamed Pidgin.
