Wow! I can't believe I had never heard of this guy. I bought the Passion of the Christ soundtrack today. This is one of the best movie soundtracks I've heard in a while. I guess in all the controversy surrounding the film, nobody paid much attention the music, but it is superb. I highly recommend this record to everybody, whether you liked the movie or not.

Mostly. Lots of choirs and percussion too. And some strange instruments that I've never heard of too, which give it that weird atmosphere.

(BTW, for fans of Mel Gibson, he is credited in the liner notes for "Chants & Vocals". [Big Grin] They don't say which tracks, though.)

I've loved Debney's stuff for a while. He's most famous for his score to CUTTHROAT ISLAND. He mostly does lighter comedy films - so it was wonderful to get him to something so different, and so powerful.
