This is sorta neat...at least for me.

Growing up (okay, until the past few months) I've had a wicked temper at myself while playing sports. I'd get incredibly frustrated with my stupid mistakes, lose concentration, break things (I have four broken raquetball racquets on my walls to attest to this).

I am the McEnroe of recreational racquetball.

Was.

See, my opponents who knew me well enough would take advantage of my own ability to psych myself out. I couldn't figure a way around it.

This morning I had a racquetball game with a prof of mine from my undergraduate college. We'd played every other week when I was an undergrad, now we play whenever we can manage to make our schedules work.

I hadn't played him in awhile and as a social work prof, he took full opportunity to exploit my weakness.

HA!

I WAS the mcenroe.

Not anymore.

I don't lose my concentration. I don't get overwhelmingly pissed or frustrated.

I don't feel the need to throw things or beat the crap out of the wall.

My guess is that the adhd is actually being treated--that the feeling of being overwhelmed and unable to concentrate and then losing my temper was a result.

Now I'm calm and jovial and am a competitor.

[Big Grin]

Much to Dan's chagrin. [Wink]

A bit rude.

Idon't understand the animosity. He already answered my question about Ritalin. Why is everyone talking sex?

Considering Ritalin wasn't even mentioned before your post, and treatment was barely mentioned, your post of "getting some" implies sexual intercourse.

Assuming we are talking about sex, what does the gender of the recipient have to do intercourse?

Anyways, If "getting some" is an allusion to sex all the times it is used, what would you make of my response to my sister who asked me what I was doing and I replied with, "I am getting some for my mom."

It had to do with getting her more aspirin.

CalvinMaker,

Considering "treatment was barely mentioned" and sex was never mentioned, I wonder how yo uview humanity. [Wink]

You called Mackillian a he.

And in the context of this thread, the general assumption was that you were implying sex.

I am not the only one who viewed it as such.

Hey mack, congratulations. How cool that you are still finding out ways in which all the work you did is now paying off in your life.
