I realize Bush is replacing American soldiers with barely-trained Iraqi civilians, and has promised to turn over sovereignity of Iraq by summer -- heh -- but what I'm rather curious about is who maintains control over Iraq's oil supply. Do we have names? Nationalities? No doubt if an Iraqi's actually given charge of them, he'll provide oil at a ridiculously cheap price to American oil companies -- but still, I'd be interested in knowing if we've bothered with that pretense of Iraqi autonomy. Will America retain control of Iraqi oil reserves in name as well as in truth come summertime?
