Just when I think television can't get more annoying, more offensive more stupid they have some show about people losing weight.
WHAT THE HELL?! What sort of ALGAE brained people thought up that? And what AMEBOES will actually watch it?!?!?
This stupid reality trend must DIE.

Okay, I want you to do something for me. Turn off the TV. Put on some nice, soothing music. Take deep breaths. Now, hide the remote. Unplug the TV. Everytime you think about turning it on, tell yourself you can do it in five minutes if you still really want to.

I was just innocently trying to see if SNL still sucks...
It does...

I dunno... I think it could be a positive thing, depending on how they do it. Think of the extreme makeover shows out there, pretty much promoting extreme surgery (which can be very dangerous) to look better. There are real health reasons to lose weight--it's not just about looks. And with obesity reaching epidemic proportions in America, a show championing people who are working hard to get healthy... well, I think it is kinda cool. If I were to ever go on a reality show, that's the kind of show I'd want to do. But I don't want to go on a reality show. Ever. Even a good one.

And for the record, I'm typically not a reality show fan.

Umm, did you just comepletely miss all the comercials for "The Swan"? I think it's much worse to take 16 women and subject them to surgery after surgery all for a beauty contest than it is to have a group of overweight people compete to see who can lose the most weight. I think it's less shallow that way. Granted, we're getting so close to having a real life "Truman Show" than I think most people thought possible when that movie came out, but still. There are stupid TV shows, and there are TASTELESS TV shows.

I didn't miss it.
I kept stupidly watching a bit of it...
Why do they keep making these things?
Why?

All my TV shows come to me via Netflix DVD rental, and I like it that way. I have not watched one minute of live TV since sometime last year. Eventually that might change, but not until I have enough money to get cable and a TiVo. [Smile]
