if you could suggest one book that you think of would be influential to somebody, what book would it be?

i've suggested the same book over and over again for 4 years running and just curious if it's maybe time for a change...i gotta be honest with you though, i am pretty deeply rooted in this one book.

So - you want to tell us which book?

(oh - wonders if thread title is title of book. Since it's not capitalized......)

Personally, I'm a huge Siddhartha fan. Herman Hesse follows one man's journey for enlightenment. Any time I feel like I'm in a rut, that's the book I reach for.

The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey.

I can't say how often I've recommended it. Lots.

I hear he has an 8th habit now.

Anne of Green Gables.

No, really, I think everyone should read it, and not just as a kid-- if you read it as a kid, there's value in re-reading it as an adult.

I hated A Separate Peace. Ugh. I can't believe I kept reading it even though I didn't need the extra credit points.
