I know it's shameless - and doubly so because of my status as a lurker for some time now - but...
I got into college!
I was admitted to Macalester College under the Early Decision contract along with just 74 other students and couldn't be more thrilled. The area is beautiful, the people are wonderful, there's a disproportionate number of international students (a very big perk for someone utterly fascinated with all-things-foreign), the international studies major is one of the best such programs in the country (Kofi Annan went there), I automatically recieve about 6 thousand a year in merit scholarships... :grins: Anyway, I'm excited.

Pixie, how exciting! Congratulations, you definitely should be proud and happy!
I start school back again in January, but I can't brag like you can, I'm easing back into school by going to a community college for two semesters, and the only requirement they had for admission was that my check not bounce.

Well I've already congratulated you, but I'll do so again. I'm amazingly proud of my little butterfly. Though I'll be in Germany when shes in my home state she'll be able to spend time with my Mother and Sister. Plus its an excellent school for an excellent lady.

Congrats, Pixie! You've been working hard for this, I know. (We even forgive you for working so hard you're hardly here anymore. ) I love when someone's hard work pays off!
