I was really looking forward to seeing the Giant Sissors!
We had our "Ribbon Cutting" this morning at my new office. But there was no ribbon, and the only thing that got cut was the cake. Italian creme. Yummy.
Anyway, about 15 people came. We smiled, we mingled, we networked, we had our picture taken in front of a banner for the newspaper. A Banner! No Ribbon! It's a disgrace!

We had a ribbon cutting on the new 4-H building (actually renovated) and there was ribbon, just no scissors. Well it was crepe paper so it tore. Very cool. The governor cut it, but he was voted out of office and the new guy wouldn't even come to the state fair.

After the "Running With Giant Scissors Incident" of Passaic, New Jersey in '03, OSHA shut down the practice as being unsafe.
Plus with all of the causes now-a-days it was getting hard to find a ribbon color that was still okay to publicly cut in two.
