and Donna the Buffalo is great - or, at least the 3/4 of one CD I heard is.

I like the song dedicated to Eric and "Promised Land."

I liked the rest of it, too, but I couldn't make out enough of the lyrics to describe any of them.

Thanks for sending it to me - I will be checking their stuff out.

Dagonee

Dag, did I send you a song list? Argh. Tell me the date of the show, and I will send you the song names and lyrics.
Jeb is a mumbler, for sure.

Dag, just give me the date. I can post the song list here so Annie and Tom n Christy can see it, too, if they want.

OK, I'll have to get it from the car, so I'll look when I go out tomorrow.

It's hard to describe them - a little bit of Dead, a little bit of N'awlins blues, a little bit of Celtic folk, plus a bunch of other stuff thrown in.

Thanks again!

Dagonee
P.S., I do remember the CDs said "Shakari" on them. Does that help?

Well, yes it does help. Did you say they played "America?"

Derrell, they are so close! Steve is burning the rest of my list. See, it is really he who should get any credit for any of this.

Dag, the hard-to-categorizeness is what I like most about them.

Is that the one that keeps using the phrase "promised land" over and over? Because that one was on it.

Better days rings a bell, and "Promised Land" is number 5. Is the song before that dedicated to Eric? If so, we have a three-point match. [Smile]

Well, I will check to see if they played Promiseland any other night at that festival.

Funny, that show has tons of covers, and quite a few guests. More than their usual fare. Plus, now they are absent the rhythm guitarist, who left the band recently. It is a different sound. Not too much, but he did a lot of Dylan covers.

Wow, that was a Zydeco-heavy show! I may not be able to find lyrics for those, as they are usually different each time they are sung.

Dagonne, did you ever find the date of that show??

Well, when you do, the easiest thing to do is go here:
www.donnabase.com

All the shows are anally listed, and there is a lyrics database there as well.

Derrell, your music will be in flight as of this afternoon.

Ketchupqueesn, if you see this, something is on the way for you as well, but I forget if I have your address. if I don't, e me at edob63@yahoo.com. Ems needs her some dancin' music!

I keep forgetting to take them out of my car. But when I do, I'll go to the site and check out the concert dates.

Thanks again - I'm loving this music. [Smile]
