For the PC-helpless, we're with you! I can't even programme...
A computer was something that was on TV, It was from those old sci-fi shows; A window was something you hated to clean, And RAM was the cousin of goats…
Meg was the name of my beautiful girl, And gig was your mid-fing upright; Now they all damn-well mean such different things, And that really does mega byte!
An application was for your own job, A program was a TV show; A cursor used profane, vulgar words, And a keyboard was a piano.
Memory was something that you lost with age, Those CDs were just bank accounts; And if you had a 3½" floppy You hoped that nobody’d find out.
Compression was something you did to the garbage – Not something you did to a file! And if you unzipped anything in public, You'd be in jail for a while…
Log on was adding more wood to the fire, Hard drives were long trips on the road; A mouse was a creature that scared women off, And backups ‘ccurred to your commode.
Cut you did well with a pocket knife, And paste was as sticky as glue; A real-complex web was all spiders’ home, And a virus we got was the flu.
I guess I’ll just stick to my paper and pad, And all memories in my head; I hear none died in a computer crash, But when it happens they wish they were dead.
