1. How do I take screenshots of movie files? I've tried with everything from Windows Media Player to VLC, and the screenshot's still some wonky effect when I try to paste it into photo editing software.

2. What's the adjective form of "military"? The dictionary lists it as "military," but does that work in the context of "medical complications," "economic ties," "military... stuff"?

I can't answer your first question, but to the second, yeah, military is an adjective, so you can talk about military spending, military operations, military life, etc. Or you could use martial.

for your first question,

Have you tried DivX? I uninstalled it a long time ago, but I remembered that it had an option where you just right-clicked the screen you wanted and it would have a "save screenshot" thing, or something....

But I'm not positive :X Maybe you can read around in the site if you don't want to download it to try [Smile]

my Intervideo WinDVD seems to work well with the screen shots. I just click the "screencap" button and it brings up a little clipboard of the images for copying.

I'm not sure "martial" and "military" are interchangeable adjectives. "martial law" and "military law" are two completely different things. "Military law" is the body of laws governing the military, whereas "martial law" is rule by military force.

If what you mean is "of or pertaining to the military", then "military" is the correct adjective. "Martial" and "militant" have different, though related, meanings.

Hmm...the only way I know for doing screen shots are Ctrl + I in Media Player but of course you could always use the Print Screen button on your keyboard and then paste that somewhere and trim the excess.
