I used to love that cartoon. At the time it was on, it was my favorite, and I'd go to crazy lengths to make sure I got to watch it.
I miss it too. Maybe it's fond memories, but it seemed particularly well done, and had an interesting story. I don't think the main character ever finished his quest, did he?

Strangely enough, my *dad* was seriously interested in it. And he hated cartoons. So it actually turned into a bit of bonding time for us. That's probably why I miss it.

I used to love that show. My brothers and I were always watching it. It was one of the last cartoon series I remember watching before I hit my teen years and was "too cool" to get up early on Saturday mornings with my brothers.
That website even has a bittorrent link to the 21 episodes. Haha, I know what I'm watching next weekend!

I liked the first incarnation better. Roddy McDowal's voice acting was a BIG plus, and the plot was just enough darker to be sinister.
The one that ran after they retooled the series was OK, but the original version had so much more promise... *sigh*

I only saw a few episodes, but I remember being impressed by the character development and the willingness not to pull punches on the costs of violence and sacrifice.

The original that I'm thinking of was a five-episode origin-story arc than ran on FOX. Fox declined to pick it up, and it went to bid.
By the time ABC picked it up, Roddy McDowal (sp?) had moved on to another project, and the new network wanted to tone down not the violence, but the treachery of the characters involved. So parts of the first run were re-edited, and Niddler was re-recorded by his new voice actor.
The new version wasn't what the first one could have been.

Its an absolute shame that no one has put out Daria on dvd. I think the movies were released but the show itself has been ignored.
