Does anyone know how long a wire transfer could be held for review prior to it being deposited into an account?

If it's out of state, and especially out of the country, I've had it take upwards of 3-5 days, depending on the amount. Usually, though, this delay is only the first time you do a wire transfer between two specific parties; it's much easier an faster after the initial approval.

Libbie, Did the transfer amount play any part in the delay, or was it simply a set of repetitive actions that had to occur on any transfer?
