That would depend on the age of the someone. What I would say to a six y.o., a 16 y.o., and a 26 y.o. is very different.

Her parents left her with her little brothers and sisters one night.. came back.. then left again. She woke up to her mom in the morning telling her she needed to talk. Heer mom says things aren't good and they are giving it till June and they were getting a divorce.

She is 16 years old

All I could say was... " Oh, no! I am so sorry. Maybe they will work out annd maybe its for the best.. "

what do you say? OH IT WILL BE BETTER!! Because it is obvious going to take a while till that happens

Short answer:

I'm sorry. Life gives you **** sometimes.

Long answer:

Live gives you **** sometimes. The pain will go away eventually, and someday you get past the ****. Stay on your grind; stand tall, and go forward.

Something like that.

There's not much you can say. Just give a good ear in case they need to talk. They'll come to you if they need to.

My parents got divorced when I was 16. I think the best thing you can do is listen when she wants to talk about it. But most of the time, get her AWAY from thoughts about her parents and family. Talk about school and boys and stuff.

That's just what helped me the most.
