That's why we have monkeys and grad students.

In MMOs, I hope all the macropharmers get caught and banned.

I assume that's what you're refering to, Blayne.

I think it's funny that people pay money to play a game which is so boring that they want to get the computer to play it for them.

some games let it some dont, arguably Eve only really gets fun at around the 5,000,000+ Skill point level and you need money to replace lost shops and get big nice ships.

mph: I don't understand why people who do that play the game. I enjoy the slow growth of my character and don't want to "skip to the end". Like life, it's the journey, not the destination.

While I think the game has quite a few boring aspects, the Pixiest is quite correct in her assessment.

However, I decided I'd rather have a second job than play Eve Online. I never looked back. [Smile]

As a general rule, I'm not a fan of games that require repetitive and boring tasks. Avoids that particular issue altogether.

Speaking as a former MUDder myself, I've always been of the opinion that writing a macro to play the game for you, while occasionally fun, does not actually count as playing the game. At best, it's "meta."

I play games as a fun way to spend time. If it's not fun, I find a different game, or at least a different aspect of the game, which is fun.

I use macros to do repetitive task at work. Why would I play a game that needs such things?
