I've read all of the Ender and Bean chronicles and I'm currently in the process of reading homecoming.
Hollywood is making all these movies about this supernon-believable fantasy stuff, which is cool because they were all good books.
But now it's time they make some movies on books that blow that other stuff out of the water (ie: OSC books).
I know there is something going on with an Ender's Game movie, but last I heard about that was maybe around a year ago.
So do we have an ETA on an OSC movie? What's in the works? Will it rock as hard as the books? (probably not, since OSC's books send your mind on an orgasmic adventure)

Actually, it would be cool if they made the Homecoming books into movies. However, I've only read the first three...

I've long since stopped holding my breath on Ender's Game. OSC was negotiating that back in the summer 2003 when I attended his writer's boot camp. (I know because he mentioned it briefly and asked us not to ask questions about it beyond what he told us...which wasn't much.) Almost 4 years later and I've heard half a dozen times that they are starting shooting. When i see the previews, then I will believe.

For the last time, the ONLY viable cast list for EG:
Ender: Paul Newman Peter: Ben Affleck Valentine: Mandy Moore Graff: Nathan Lane J.P. Wiggin: John Cusack T.H. Wiggin: Joan Cusack Anderson: John Travolta Bean: Actually, Dwayne Johnson is a great idea. Petra: Haley Joel Osmond Mazer Rackham: John C. McGinley Alai: Denzel Washington Shen: Daniel Dae Kim Bonzo: Luis Guzman Han Tzu: Chow Yun Fat Crazy Tom: Adam Brody Dink: Benjamin McKenzie Fly Molo: Dante Basco Bugger Queen: Bea Arthur
There is no room for argument
The only exception made thusfar is that Zach Braff could be Peter. Maybe. If I can bring myself to forgive him for every major motion picture he's been in so far.

On second thought, the following cast might work as well:
Ender: Eddie Murphy Peter: Charlie Murphy Valentine: Eddie Murphy Graff: Eddie Murphy J.P. Wiggin: Charlie Murphy T.H. Wiggin: Dave Chapelle Anderson: Eddie Murphy Bean: Eddie Murphy Petra: Charlie Murphy Mazer Rackham: Dave Chapelle Alai: Eddie Murphy Shen: Charlie Murphy Bonzo: Charlie Murphy Han Tzu: Eddie Murphy Crazy Tom: Eddie Murphy Dink: Dave Chapelle Fly Molo: Eddie Murphy Bugger Queen: Mos Def

I remember reading about a sopposed EG movie a few years ago, and it was sopposed to come out in '08. I thought, wow, that's really cool, they should start working on it. Years later I'm still thinking, wow, that's really cool, they should start working on it.

I think the last bit of info released was this, from Pweb:
quote: OSC`s Draft of the script is finished, and would clock in around 2 hours and 15-20 minutes. Peter is in this draft, but in a very minor role. The events in Battle School are condensed into one year`s time. The Adults are keeping watch on both Ender and Bean, trying to decide which of them will be the One.
i think they should make a movie for both ender's game and ender's shadow, to combine them would be like.....
i dunno... name two really good things that wouldnt work.
oh i know, sex and ice cream.
or how about a more famous version of two things that dont work well together.
pie and sex. jason biggs actually kinda proved it works quite well together..... but still!
and wait, is it going to be animated? thats the only reason i was wondering how in the heck could sean connery play ender, and now that i look at the cast, a bunch of those names are on the 40+ list.
I was thinking it would be nonanimated, or nonCG, or whatever OSC plans to do, but if it's animated then it could be produced on almost any budget, so I guess that works.
and it would be hard to do the battelroom scenes without it looking cheesy as crap.
PS: I like Erosomniac's cast, but I only counted eddie murphy 9 times. he played about 11 roles in Coming to America alone! he needs to be playing 12 roles in this one!!!

Okay, let me just spell this out. Sean Connery + Ender = Joke. Read the last sentence of my previous post, or the threads that those cast lists came from. And sprinkle some of these around the thread where needed:
