I hadn't realized just how much I'd been missing the ginchiest super-hero in comics until I read the first issue of the new Madman series today.
Suddenly, it all came back. The reasons why Madman is one of the very few original super-heroes of the 1990s worth reviving.
This new series starts out with a summary of sorts...but also makes it clear that something screwier than usual is going on with poor Frank Einstein. Soul-searching is nothing new to this character, but it seems there are regions of Frank's soul that are demanding his attention and acknowledgment. Rather stridently so.
