Geez but they have to pay such a large % of their findings to the government. And I am sure any money they get from selling the coins is also taxed. You could almost make a case that the government should subsidized ventures like these since they stand to gain so much.

If the government hadn't sign the permit for the company to go down and find valuables, no one would be making any money - not the government and certainly not the company.

Agreeing to share booty with the Crown in exchange for a letter of marquedoes provide one with RoyalNavy protection from other pirates covetous of ones treasures. Better to have a spendable quarter-billion than a half-billion kept in hiding.
Besides, real pirates make their financial killing on the lawless seas of WallStreet, where such a small real gain can be multiplied into multi-billion dollar cashouts through sales of corporate stock.

Speaking of grammar, does employing mathmatical, (criminey I hate not having firefox at work, I miss the auto spell checker,) symbols predate online communication?
Has any official body accepted their use in English communication? I mean I've done it for years and I know I just started doing it one day when I saw somebody else write that way.
Is there a chance one day it will be deemed not OK and Ill have to stop?
edit: ditto to using html tags in conversation.
