Looks like the GDC has turned up some useful screens. I mean, that thing has four blades!
I apologize. Things like this make me happy. With any luck, we'll have some "official" confirmation soon.

It can devour units too apparently, kind of like a kodo beast could in Warcraft III. I got to admit, it looks really cool.

I wish I were better at RTS games. Something about the massive micro-management required to really do well seems to stump me every time. I think I get too engrossed in each aspect, and want to see what's going on rather than jumping constantly between 10 different tasks.

They say that the AI is able to compensate for that this time around, because you will be able to program future functions in detail. For instance you can program your side to research specific techs, and it will build the necessary buildings for you and start producing units.
I will be playing this. I got on the StarCraft bandwagon years late, but I really liked it.

I just hope that starcraft doesn't go the war of warcraft, and that warcraft would come back form the dark side.

They also show the Zerg control screen with 24 units selected. I'm wondering if that ability to select so many is exclusive to Zerg (it would make perfect sense). I've been in on SC almost since the very beginning, and I've never regretted it. There was a time when I played it every single day from the time I got off work till the time I went to bed (several hours, as I generally went TO work right after waking up).
This game may just consume my life if Spore doesn't beat it to the punch. Maybe I can find room in my life for both.

Well, in the original announcement, it was said that you could have effectively unlimited selection. My guess is that the interface will adjust the selected unit portrait size according to how many units are selected, probably by increments of 6. So if you have at least 13 units selected, it'll adjust the selected unit interface to accommodate for 18 units, or if you have 19 units, accommodation for 24. Just a guess.
So in Starcraft II, you really will be able to swarm someone with Zerg--en masse!
