Well, maybe a thing or two, and I'm sure people better versed in physics, weapons technology, and flight mechanics will have plenty. But seriously, I really liked this. Nothing tripped my "oh, come on" sensors, and Robert Downey Jr. nailed this perfectly.
Best of all, the endless trailers and sneak peeks didn't give everything away. There's still plenty to surprise you.
Including a scene after the credits. There's a lot of them to sit through, but do it. It's worth it.

I love it when they add scenes at the end. I stay past the credits on every movie just in case. I am always so pleased with myself when I am rewarded (and then laugh at the people who hustled out).

I'm pretty excited to see it, but I have no idea when I will actually get to. (I don't have two minutes to rub together between preparing to move, work, and church stuff. But every now and then my husband likes to blow off the house crud and go out.)

This is the movie I want my husband to take me to for my birthday. We always try to get in dinner and a movie for my birthday, which means I usually see one movie a year.
Though, this year I will also take the kids to Prince Caspian so maybe I will see two.

The thing I'm interested in is: are the shaky physics necessary for a superhero premise to work presented in such a way that my mind accepts them readily, or do they make glaring errors that stand out and must be excused if I'm to enjoy the movie?
They don't have to be accurate, but they do have to feel accurate. Aside from a couple of "how could he survive that" bits, "Iron Man" succeded admirably for me.

And of course, the lovely thing about Rotten Tomatoes is that it's not dealing with one review, but giving the scope of reviews in general, at least in broad terms.
Still. Not many movies that I see reach 95%... I'm sold, and I didn't know if I even wanted to see the movie before now. I figured it'd just be another big budget special effects s___storm the likes of which we normally get.

Definite take or not, see it. I had very little interest in Iron Man before. He's been written well and written poorly and I've never been a steady fan. I've always been a die-hard Spider-Man fan.
This movie was better than the first Spider-Man movie, which I love. After I see it again this weekend, I'll let you know if I think it was better than the second one...
It's not a great movie, per se. It will win no dramatic Oscars. The plot is not tough to predict, with the ending telegraphed a mile away. Had anyone else been cast as Tony Stark it would have been a pretty good movie.
With Robert Downey Jr., it becomes the best superhero movie I've ever seen. Just the right combination of humor, character growth, action, deftly handled romance, effective CGI, and drama, with plenty of details and foreshadowing drawn from the comics history without confusing people who have never read the comics. Literally something for everybody.
And at the heart of it is Downey's deeply flawed, cocky yet self-deprecating, reluctant but dedicated hero. The energy of the movie drops noticeably when he's not onscreen, but not enough to matter. The cool tech and big explosions are great, but watching him go from self-absorbed playboy to self-sacrificing hero is what makes this movie.
I am very interested in what OSC will make of this. As one reviewer already noted, it's a political Rorshach test; you'll see what you want to. Right-wing? Stark is patriotic, pro-military, and in favor of unilateral intervention. Left-wing? While the terrorists are undeniably evil, we also see an evil industrial-military complex.
