Confirmed:

Watchmen

Well, I'm curious to see it. Especially since we'll supposedly get a glimpse of Doctor Manhattan, a character who may or may not translate to live action well.

Terminator: Salvation

Makes sense. Bale fans will be excited to see his other big tentpole flick.

Body of Lies

It has Russell Crowe in it. Beyond that, I know nothing.

Rumored:

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

With the year more than half over, November isn't -that- far off. You'd think WB would release a teaser for their current most popular franchise, but you'd probably be wrong. Still, some of the HP fan-sites seem dead-set-certain this'll be the one. We'll see.

Star Trek

Nope. Paramount isn't even having anything Star Trek related at Comic Con this year, despite the new film being one of the sponsors. And yet...I know the film isn't behind schedule. Either they feel -very- confident about people remembering the teaser released in January...or they've forgotten about it too.

Fun note: A Star Trek fanzine once speculated that Spock's mother, Amanda Grayson, was a descendant of Dick Grayson A.K.A. Robin the Boy Wonder A.K.A. Nightwing A.K.A. "Jellybean"

Only one trailer will be the "attached" trailer, unless they do a combo trailer, which is super-rare. (They won't; those tend to be reserved for children's films) Aside from that attached trailer, whichever one it is, (Watchmen, sounds like) the trailer packs will vary a great deal, as they always do. The studio will send out the list of trailers they want to see on the film, but it never ends up set-in-stone. The theaters always have to make adjustments. In addition, a film like Batman will not have consistently the same trailer pack anyway, because it will be playing on multiple screens at each location; whenever that occurs, the trailers on print A will be different from the trailers on print B, C, etc. They try to mix up the trailers on multiple prints as a rule. If you ever get the chance to see a trailer list sent out by a studio, you will see how wildly it varies from the jump -- let alone when adjustments are required at the theater itself, which is usually.

[Smile] And now that that little exercise in minutiae is over....

I'm excited for the Watchmen trailer.

I don't see anything in your post that contradicts anything in mine...these are the trailers confirmed (and rumored) to be attached to The Dark Knight next week. Whether it's all simultaneously or only one varies, as you say.

Iron Man and Kung Fu Panda both had all the trailers I'd seen announced elsewhere included at the screenings, so I know it's not impossible to see 'em all. [Wink]

(Then again, both were distributed by Paramount.)

Well, the contradiction is that there will be only one attached trailer.

I repeat: Where is the contradiction? I made no statement that every screening of the film would have simultaneously every one of these trailers...just that these are the ones expected (and in three cases, confirmed by Warner Brothers) to be attached to prints of the film.

Okay, now I understand. The contradiction seems to be in terminology; we're miscommunicating. An "attached trailer" is actually an industry term for a trailer which is included on the first reel of the print when it comes out of the lab, and therefore plays on every print. I thought it was this you were referring to when you were saying "attached" -- now I realize you just meant attached. [Smile]

Warner Bros. has confirmed that Half-Blood Prince will not be a trailer showing with Dark Knight.
