I just got a call from a local director, who's doing an evening of comedic (and musical) one acts... one of her actresses dropped out because she has to leave the country before the end of the show, or something, so she's looking for a replacement. She got my name from the director of Camelot, who recommended me as a suitable singing/acting/dancing replacement. Me!
I'm so excited, people around town are actually starting to hear my name. I'm meeting her at 2:00 at the theatre to get the script, and talk to her for a bit. But I'm really happy, this is what makes you a performer. When people know who you are!!
I just got back from my meeting/quasi-audition. The play is really cute, about two mayflies (yes, I did have a Hatrack moment when I read through it), but it's also kind of risque! *gulp* I have very little acting experience, being mainly a singer, so this should be an interesting first time as a lead role!
I have to go call my fellow mayfly now, and arrange a rehearsal!

I knew i would always regret having never gotten your autograph
maybe later you can say what exactly makes it risque. I'm just always curiouse what different people mean by that. Anyway, good luck, and congradulations. Posts: 376 | Registered: Sep 2004

Um, Stryker, if they're not family friendly, you're not getting them.
They most likely will be, but in case they're not... the only way to see them is to fly here for the show.
Jonny, you interested in seeing it? I think it opens the 16th, though I have to double check that, and it runs for... a week, maybe? I'm not sure, I have to check. But it's at Mercaz HaMagshimim in the Moshava, so right down the street from you, basically. I'll give you more details, if you're interested.
