I was going to suggest a timeline as well. Though I'm not sure if OSC wants to pin the story down to specific years. Based on a few references throughout the books I think that EG takes place around the mid to late 2100s.

The timeline could just be a sort of BE (before Ender birth) and AE (after Ender’s birth) type thing. Works for us in the real world and since he is the central figure of this world should suffice for this timeline!
What about the two other Ender books coming out? Is this encyclopedia going to wait till those are out? Well… I guess since those might be a while in coming probably not. Plus there’s a new Ender story in IGMS each quarter so this one will have to be volume 1.
Jack Black should get with Michael Collins who has done a lot of OSC research and background stuff. He could probably be a good one to provide one of those other author essays. Along those lines Edith Tyson would surly have something to say after her book about him. And then maybe some people who work with him like Kathy Kidd and even his wife Kristine.
Of course don’t forget to talk about the great teaching discussion stuff they have out for Ender’s game.
How neat. Should be a great book.

If it were at all possible to glean enough details from the books, I'd like to see diagrams or layouts of the way various settings are 'supposed' to look. For example: Battle School, Battle Room, Eros, the compound Bean rescued Petra from, the Luisitania(sp?) settlement, etc.
Also, a question: Did the Formics know that Ender would be governing the particular planet that he goes to after the war, so that he could find the giants body and the Hive Queen? When in relation to the final conflict in the war was the setting constructed?
Also, I'm always interested to hear more about the first philotic meetings of Ender's mind, Jane and the Formics (sometime around the fantasy game, right?). How did that all work and in what timeline?

Suggestion: There should be an explanation of why the I.F. lied about Mazer piloting the first colony ship.

You of all people should know the answer to that one -- it's because OSC forgot that he originally wrote that Mazer piloted the ship.

I'd like to see a political layout of sorts. Explaining how things were run from before the buggers showed up, what changed inbetween, and what took place between the annihilation of the formics to the times of children of the mind. -- and shouldn't he put the linking book out there before they make this? the one that finalizes both series?

Yeah, yeah... But in spite of our speculations, we never got an official 'in-story' explanation of why the I.F. would want people to think Mazer was gone. This is the perfect chance to follow up on that quick fix.

Maps of Earth at Formic One, Formic Two, the First Hegemony, during the early "shadow" era and during Peter's Hegemony would be excellent

it could simply be that they thought that they might be able to use mazer's influence among the battleschoolers when the time came. that's what i always assumed.

Within descriptions of every Battle Schooler should be not just their home country but where their loyalties lie at various times (ISC, Hegemony, Stragegos, Polemarch, Warsaw Pact, Ender, Bean, nationality)

Definitely a family tree of Ender's family, and maybe Bean's, too. Just so we know how many kids Valentine has and the name of that last little Delphiki-Arkanian. And does Ender have a middle name? (Random, but I've just always wondered.)

The whole concept of being able to look up things quickly will be fun and useful. I’m sure there will be connections made possible for future stories that have never even been considered.

Sorry I meant virtual 3D model- including both exterior and interior.
I want to see more about Theresa's father who was a noted military theoretician. And Graff- how did Graff get into his job and how did he develop?

I'd like to see a timeline of events that take place in the "Ender Universe". You could name a major event (such as first contact with the Hive) as "Year 0" and then place other events, such as Ender's birth, Peter becoming Hegemon, etc., accordingly.

As someone who has attempted to illustrate the interior environment of the battle rooms numerous times and has never been entirely satisfied with the results, a technical diagram of the battlerooms would be most appreciated!

I'd be interested in hearing the story of how Battleschool was built, by whom (as in the creation of the IF), and what it's origional purpose was. That sort of thing. I'm sure I'll think of more ideas in a minute.

I'd like to know more about the first and second invasions. What happened? What did the general public think was happening? Were they scared? Did they think it was just conspiracy theorists out of control? How long did it take to "unite" everyone?

Also, more information on some of the planets in the later books (or a consolidation of the information on them throughout the books). There are quite a few that are mentioned, particularly as Peter and Wang-Mu are traveling, and it would be interesting to put them all together. Was sentient life found on any planet other than Lusitania? (And the first colony, of course, but no one else knew about that.)

I am wondering what Ender's favorite song is. Like a Rolling Stone? Blowin' in the Wind. For some reason I have a feeling that Ender would like Bob Dylan.

I am waiting, and hoping for birthdates...or at least birthdays... I've been trying to guess them for so long, it'd be great if someone would just tell me!

If it mentions VBS, it should mention AnsibleMOO, too, since we've also got OSC's approval, and have for nine and a half years.
A timeline would be great, and then I'd also like to see maps of Earth, like bedir than average said.
The biggest thing I want is information on how stuff works, from things like "If no one cooks anymore, or at least bakes, where does food come from?" "Are most cities corridors or is that only one out of a hundred?" and "What happened to kids who iced out before their first year was up?" all the way down to "What are the uniforms made of?" and "What was a typical Battle School day like?".

In order of appearance: Army - Page number (EG paperback) Manticore - 41 Asp - 41 Scorpion - 42 Spider - 42 Flame - 42 Tide - 42 Salamander - 68 Rat - 76 Hound - 76 Condor - 80 Squirrel - 80 Leopard - 93 Centipede - 105 Phoenix - 139 Dragon - 156 Rabbit - 176 Ferret - 192 Badger - 206 Griffin - 213 Tiger - 213
This list is thanks to Cheyan, who got curious enough to go look it up some time ago.
What I, personally, would like to see has mostly been stated above. A map of the Battle School would be useful and very interesting. Some further idea of just what a student there learns, beyond the battleroom and running an army. That sort of thing.

I would like to see actual pictures or blueprints of most of the equipment used, like the guns and suits used in the battle room, the little docter, the different starships used for both the humans and the buggers, the ansible throughout the years, etc.
I would also love a new short story or something, or mabey the original "Ender's Game" short story itself.
Mabey a picture of the diferent aliens.
Bios of a bunch of characters.
Timeline.
Uh-oh, this is starting to look like a Christmas gift list to Santa or something!

Oh how many of us have been waiting years for this...
More info on some of those lesser characters, especially officers, politicians, family members, philosophers, and students. What was the deal with Wu (Woo, Woo Hoo), the only girl in Dragon Army? How crazy was Crazy Tom, and why?
Technology: What's the deal with tthe Ecstatic Shield? How does the Mind Game interface with its players? What was the IF/Starways Congress Fleet like? What was the Formic Fleet like? How about a hive?
Biology: A schematic of the Lusitanian ecology. Anatomy/listing/explanation of the various life stages of both male and females for the ramen.
A complete Demosthenes' Hierarchy of Foreignness. Utlanning, Framling, Ramen, Varelse, and whatever Djur alludes to. Definitions and examples.
You know, I really wanted to write this book...

Bean also specifically mentions seeing a "Lion Crew" in ES, around page 100-something. 104? It was one of the symbols he recognized. But that's the only mention, so I don't know if it really matters.
I will echo others in asking for army colors/uniforms/symbols. Definitely yes.

Country of Origin/Loyalty for all of the Battle Schoolers mentioned in any book, as well as their roles/Armies in Battle School, and their educational path (Ground, Battle, Tactical, Command)?
Also included would be which ones gain particular prominence in the prePeter Hegemony era (such as Alai, Virlomi).

Summaries of the specs of all the hundred worlds. How starways congress came to be, replacing the FPE. Info about those who failed before Ender, as mentioned in Shadow of the Giant. What became of Bean's children who remained on earth. If it won't be discussed in the new EG/ES books then what becomes of Young Peter and Si Wang Mu.
Edit: Oh, I've often wondered this. Approximately what IQ was good enough for Battle School? 145? 155? etc.

You all make me so sad... No mention of Bean, what happened to him, etc. Everyone cares about Petra, her kids, and I think I even saw a mention of the one missing one (delusional mother who thinks its Achilles kid...) but nobody wants a follow up or additional pages about what happens to Bean and his kids once hes blasting around near light speed? If I stand alone in this, ok, but I sincerley hope there is more of him in the future books, and I hope this time it doesnt make me cry. Again.
I definitely agree with the maps, relative time line, and a bit of family history on the characters. I also agree that Graff himself is a book worth writing. But above all, MORE BEAN.
